Before any editing magic happens, there’s one essential step: coffee. It’s the quiet moment that shifts my brain into focus, like flipping a little internal switch.
For me, editing isn’t something I ease into casually.
It requires presence.
It requires listening.
And somehow, that first warm sip helps everything click into place.
Once the coffee kicks in, the waveforms start to make sense.
The story becomes clearer.
I start to notice the small things: a breath out of place, a mic bump, a moment that needs tightening.
Editing is detail work, and caffeine is my co-editor.
Every podcast manager needs a ritual. Maybe it’s tea, a playlist, a deep breath, or a walk around the block before editing. Whatever helps you settle into the right mindset matters more than you think.
A clear head = cleaner edits.
